Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about how we work, our business consulting, business centre, web design and project services. Can’t see your question? Just ask.

Working with us

Scott McMartin, directly. We’re not a big consultancy that sends a team of graduates. Scott started as an apprentice, rose to managing director, has grown two businesses and now owns and runs a business centre in Dunfermline.

Send us a message through the contact page and we’ll arrange a phone or video call. There’s no obligation. If we can help, we follow up with a written proposal setting out what you get, the timescale and the price.

Every business is different, so we price each piece of work after the free call. You get a clear written price before any work starts, with no surprises.

No. We work project by project, with no long-term commitments. You can bring us in for a single review, a business plan or a full project, then stop when the job is done.

We’re based in Falkirk and work across Central Scotland and Fife, including the FK and KY postcode areas. Much of our business centre and online visibility work can be done remotely, so we also work with clients across the UK, such as Warlies Park House in Essex.

Business consulting

Turnover is good, but profit is what matters. We look at where your money comes from and where it goes, by product, service and customer, then give you a short list of practical changes ranked by the profit each one adds.

Yes. We write business plans that lenders, investors and Business Gateway will take seriously, with realistic numbers you understand and can stand behind.

A SWOT analysis sets out your business’s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats on one page. Worked through honestly with you and your team, it shows where to focus and what to fix first.

Business centres

Not every building suits flexible workspace. Our feasibility review looks at the building, the local market and the numbers, and gives you a clear go or no-go before you spend money on a fit-out.

It depends on the terms. We’ve been on the landlord’s side of a managed partnership with the world’s largest flexible workspace operator, so we can give you an impartial review of the offer, including the income split, costs and contract risks.

Most centres convert well once people visit. The problem is being found. We check your Google Business Profile, website, AI search, broker listings and day-pass apps, then fix the gaps. See our Warlies Park House case study.

Websites, SEO and AEO

Yes, through Saltire Web Design, a trading name of Saltire Project Solutions Ltd. We build websites for small businesses and business centres across the FK and KY postcode areas and beyond. See Web Design, SEO & AEO.

AEO stands for answer engine optimisation. It means setting up your website so AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini can understand your business and recommend it when people ask them questions, in the same way SEO helps you appear on Google.

Project management and engineering

No. We manage any kind of change: office and business centre fit-outs, process plant projects on COMAH sites, new services, and operational or management change. The same project principles apply to all of them.

Yes. We provide ad-hoc and interim project management, instrument engineering and functional safety support (IEC 61511) for the process industries, with no long-term commitment.
